Mapping Colorado’s Gold Rush with Wes Brown
Wes Brown will present the history of Colorado’s gold rush and the maps it produced.  Wes has down this presentation for many organizations, including History Colorado.  In this presentation you will hear about the origins of the 1858-59 Pikes Peak or Bust gold rush and the effects of it on what would quickly become the Territory of Colorado.
 
Wes Brown is a longtime Denver resident and ardent collector of historic maps of Colorado.  He was co-founder and first president of the Rocky Mountain Map Society.  Wes also is an advisor for the Library of Congress and the Denver Public Library.
