Our six members began writing, performing and recording their own songs. Meanwhile, Carter ‘s recording degree from the University of Colorado at Denver allowed the band the opportunity to record in CU Denver’s recording studio, “the Core.” At the university, Carter recorded and produced Leadville Cherokee’s first album, a self-titled, five-song EP. Thereafter, Carter met Grammy-nominated engineer, Tim Stroh who has been a successful member of the recording business for over 25 years and worked with many talented acts. Carter, with the help of Stroh finished the EP at Stroh’s studio, Mad House Recorders. The EP was released at a show in Buena Vista, CO on August 10th of 2013. Carter, Stroh, and Leadville Cherokee have agreed to record their first full-length album together at Mad House Recorders in Leadville, for release in the summer of 2014. Today, you can catch Leadville Cherokee at their regular shows anywhere from Leadville to Denver. Otherwise you can find members of the band skiing on the local mountain, rafting down Colorado’s rivers, climbing, mountain biking, hiking, and just about any other outdoor activity. This is a band that believes life, as well as music, can more than ordinary. Their passion, ideals, humor, and deepest emotion lie within not only the music they play, but also in their stimulating lifestyles.
