Junior Wrangler Camp at Devils Thumb Ranch

Camp Dates and Eligibility:

Beginner Camp: Offered to children ages 10 and older who have never ridden or ride less than 12 times per year.  Also great for the more timid rider.

• Available June 19 - 22, 2016 and/or July 31 - August 3, 2016

• Cost: $495 per child

• Minimum of 2 Participants. Maximum of 4 Participants.

• Children will ride at a walk or trot ONLY!!

• Focus: Building the safety aspect as well as teaching the basics of riding. Children will get an introduction of some of the different reasons horses are so valuable. Minimal barn chores required.

Intermediate/Advanced Camp: Offered to Children 13 years or older who ride more than 12 times per year. 

• Available June 19 - June 24, 2016 and/or July 31 - August 5, 2016

• Cost: $895 per child (includes 1 dinner and 1 breakfast)

• Minimum of 2 Participants. Maximum of 4 Participants.

• Children MUST be able to ride at ALL gaits…Walk, Trot, Canter

• Includes a stayover in the hayloft with dinner and s’mores around the campfire.

• Focus: Teaching a wider variety of disciplines and ways to use horses in your daily life. This program will also teach that there is more to a horse than just riding! Children will get to experience a Full Day in the life of a wrangler which will consist of chores, feeding, doctoring, and of course, RIDING!!

Lodging & Food:

• Unfortunately lodging is NOT included in the price of the camp and is VERY limited on property. Please contact ASAP for available dates. We may be able to suggest an alternative as well.

• Campers will receive a boxed lunch daily. A menu will be sent out in the Camper’s packet of information.

  Intermediate/Advanced Group will also be provided with Dinner and Breakfast on the overnight portion. This will be included in their camp rate.
