Intro to Geocaching

Geocaching is a world-wide, high-tech scavenger hunt! This growing sport has participants of all ages hunting for over 820,000 caches in nearly every city, town, and ski slope around the world. It is the activity of using a GPS (global positioning system) handheld device to locate hidden caches or treasure boxes. These caches contain treasure, usually toys or other little trinkets. Looking for a little help to get started in your treasure-hunting? Attend this FREE introductory class on Wednesdays.

Winter Park Resort boasts over 3 dozen caches hidden on and around the mountain ranging from green-circle EASY to black-diamond DIFFICULT. GPS Rentals are available at the Mountain Adventure Center in the Village for $10 per day.

If you have your own GPS, geocaching at Winter Park is FREE.
