Cabaret at Rocky Mountain Rep

Music lovers have a wonderful Broadway-like experience awaiting them on Saturday, July 25. Rocky Mountain Repertory Theatre in Grand Lake will present its annual Cabaret fundraiser complete with a 16-piece orchestra and 20 Broadway-caliber singers.

    The year’s Manhattan Meets the Mountains Cabaret features an hour-long musical concert with professional performers from the 2015 season. Each year over 1,200 actors audition in four cities for a coveted spot in the RMRT company. In fact, there’s a good chance you will see a future Broadway star performing at Cabaret — RMRT currently has five alumni performing in welll-known shows in New York.

    The evening includes gourmet hors d'oeuvres by O-A Bistro, French wines provided by Grand Lake Wine and Spirits, dancing, and silent and live auctions. Silent-auction items include art and photography from local artists. The live auction is always a huge draw, with the rep's actors auctioning off their talent. The silent auction begins at 5 p.m., and the concert starts promptly at 6 p.m.

    During the 14 days leading up to Cabaret (July 11-July 25), many Grand Lake merchants will have special in-store offers keeping with this year’s Manhattan Meets the Mountains theme.
