Participate or spectate – The 26th Annual Governor’s Cup at Devil’s Thumb Ranch on Sat., Jan. 26th, 2013, for an action-packed and fun-filled day of competitive ski racing, kids' ski races, awards, post-race activities including a BBQ.
Whether you’re a hard core ski racer or casual weekend warrior, Devil’s Thumb Ranch’s more than 80 miles of groomed and tracked cross-country ski and snowshoe trails offer something for everyone, in one of the most breathtaking wilderness settings in the region. The Governor’s Cup, one of the longest running cross-country ski races in Colorado, returns to Devil’s Thumb Ranch as a celebration of the seven-plus year transformation of this renowned cross country ski center into a year round, eco-friendly ranch resort and spa. The openings of the base area 52-room main lodge, Ranch Creek Spa facility and casual dining restaurant, Heck’s Tavern, culminated the resort’s multi-year capital improvement program.
WHAT IT INCLUDES:
Race registration fee, trail pass, feed stations along courses with sport drinks and bananas, post-race BBQ, live entertainment for all registered racers; additional BBQ tickets will be available for purchase for spectators, friends and family members.
PRIZES:
$2,000 in cash and $3,000 in-kind products awarded to winners in 30km, 17km, and 5km races.
30km Classic Division- Top 3 Overall Male & Female Finishers will receive a medal and merchandise.
Devil’s Chase - 17km Skate and Classic
Top 3 Male & Female finishers in both Skate and Classic will receive a medal and merchandise.
Zach’s 5- 5km Skate and Classic Age Class Awards - the top 3 Males and Females, in both the freestyle and classic divisions.
Rachel’s Stomp- 1km Kids Race - Ages 3 to 12 receive a medal and hot chocolate and homemade cookies courtesy of Devil’s Thumb Ranch.
